Van's field trip to. . .

the Pumpkin Patch!

We had such a blast! Van really loved seeing the the animals there. Alyssa will be having her field trip the the pumpkin patch next week. She's looking forward to riding the school bus. I haven't told Van yet, but I know he will be thrilled to ride it as well. (We're going along on that trip with her.)

Here's Van's best friend Kacie. Her sister is Lainey, which is Alyssa's BFF.

Breakfast NIGHTMARE!!! ( FYI: Nothing to do with Halloween.)

Yesterday, my wonderful hubby decided to make us french toast for breakfast. (So sweet!) Well, he forgot to give Alyssa a napkin with her food. So Miss Independent went to the kitchen to get one herself. She reach for the napkin on the counter and this is what happened. . .

O U C H!!!!!!

Somehow her upper lip touched the skillet while she was reaching for the napkins! She has a second degree burn, but NO signs of infection. (Per the doctor.)

As you can tell from the picture she is teary-eyed. She's in some pain. She shows me with her fingers and says "a little." Poor thing!

But, here's a smile.

What a trooper! :)

Instructional: Art Party

So here are some ideas if you aren't too sure on what theme to have for your child's next birthday party.

My son's birthday is in September and I thought what better time to have an art/paint party! All of the school supplies are out and super cheap!!!! So easy to put together.

First are the invitations.

I got these cute crayon invitations from Created by Karen on Etsy. You get 10 for $25.

Second is the party favors.

I put a box of markers, bag of crayons (which you can get from Annie Leigh & Co.), watercolors, and a glue stick. Wrap them in a plastic bag that you can get from Michael's and tie with a colored ribbon.

Third is the supplies.

We did a lot of painting and I borrowed all of my friends' easels. So we had a total of 3 of them. It was great for the big kids. I set up a table for the little ones and covered it with paper and let them mess it up!

I got most of my supplies from Wal-Mart and what I couldn't find there I used my 40% off coupons at Michael's. I also got tupperware throw away bowls for the paints. Just toss when done! Easy clean up! :)

I also got the cute little monkey smock from momo made it on Etsy. She does such beautiful work! You should definitely check her stuff out.

I even got these cute banners for decorations inside the house! You can also get these from Annie Leigh & Co.

Now all you need are the kids!

Update. . .

Van turned two on September 28th!

Happy Birthday Van!

His party went over well. It sure was hotttt! (Weather, not Paris talk!) I'll post pictures this week. I definitely want to give you guys some tips on how I planned the art party. :) I've got pictures!

So, the kids are sick again!!! Alyssa came down with croup last Saturday night and then turned into a sinus infection on Friday. Van battled a high fever this weekend, but so far no other symptoms. We'll keep our fingers crossed. It was so sad to see them sick. Alyssa getting breathing treatments and Van shaking from the fever. I sure hope this is not how our winter is going to look this year! Please keep us in your thoughts.

On to more EXCITING and THRILLING news. . .

(drum roll please)

I will be going to the Twilight premier with my sister-in-law (fellow Twilight junkie) in Hollywood next month!!!!! (At this moment picture my voice going up a couple of octaves.) Matt is actually letting me get away for a couple of days!!! We booked our hotel room at the fancy Roosevelt Hotel.

I feel like a teenager again! I don't know if that is a good thing though. Pimps, hormones, and getting my heart broken a few times. Tough times for teens. But I'm OBSESSED with the books! Once I get them back from my friends, I will be rereading them again. Matt calls me crazy and says that he wants his wife back. I'm still here, but . . .(I don't know what to say, I think I might be crazy.)
